Project summary

Coordinate Cuyahoga SWCD school-based Native Urban Tree Starters (NUTS) Program. Develop instructional and outreach materials and activities to engage participants in the Native Urban Tree Starters. Annual Poster Contest, Envirothon and other youth environmental education programs.

Opportunity description

Oversee interns and volunteers in outdoor education and off-site field activities, such as stream cleanups. Serve as a liaison with schools, teachers, environmental organizations, government agencies, and local leaders to connect student experiences with practical application of environmental principles. Assist staff in communicating with the public about programs and initiatives, including staffing tables at community events.

Requirements and qualifications

Requirements

Must have GED or high school diploma; be 18 or older by October 8, 2024. Must successfully pass a National Service Criminal History Check (NSCHC). Must be a U.S citizen, national or lawful permanent resident.

Preferred qualifications

Possess a valid driver's license. Have an interest in the environmental field such as, stormwater managment, climate impacts, or urban forestry. Demonstrate maturity and cultural competency. Self-motivated and able to work on a team.
