Project summary
Engage young adults, 18-30, in training and service in the areas of: tree care industry safety standards, pruning and tree assessment, chainsaw operation and maintenance, chipper operation, tree felling, climbing, plant anatomy and identification, social health and functioning, and carpentry.
Opportunity description
AmeriCorps PowerCorpsPHL members are responsible for the implementation of environmental projects that build, maintain, and/or restore Philadelphia’s green infrastructure. Corps members serve with partner organizations to provide direct service to tackle pressing environmental challenges and community needs, including but not limited to the need for improved stormwater management, decreased water pollution, and increased use of public lands, revitalized and restored public lands.

Requirements
High School diploma or GED, ability to lift 50 lbs., resident of Philadelphia, 18-30 years old.
