Project summary
Ready to help meet the most pressing needs of rural Oregon? In this position with Lake County Resources Initiative, you'll be immersed in the rapidly developing rural energy industry- specifically the planning and implementation of innovative renewable energy and energy efficiency projects. You will support energy burdened rural small business owners and agricultural producers who provide critical goods and services in Lakeview, Lake County, and other rural Oregon communities.
Opportunity description
Working with with Lake County Resources Initiative, you will build relationships with rural landowners and small businesses and help them secure critical renewable energy grants. You'll do community outreach, share renewable energy resources, help plan a rural energy conference, and more. Get ready to create lasting impacts for renewable energy in rural Oregon! NOTE: The service year starts in Oregon on Sept. 4. The sooner you apply, the better your chances of participating!

Requirements and qualifications
Requirements
Bachelor's degree; U.S. citizen or permanent resident; 6 months applied community experience AND coursework, OR equivalent experience in 3 or more of these areas: planning or statistical analysis, economic theory, project management, community or economic development, environmental planning, geographic information systems, grant writing; Proficiency in computer use; Pass a check of the National Sexual Offender Public Registry, FBI check and criminal background check of state registries.
Preferred qualifications
Effective teamwork; Ability to stay organized and on-track with projects and processes; Technical skills including data collection, analysis, and representation, large document creation, grant writing, GIS, website development, policy analysis; Strong written, verbal, and graphic communications; Ability to handle conflict and maintain good relationships; Commitment to volunteerism and service; Ability to create inclusive spaces; Commitment to rural community development; Driver's license helpful
