Project summary
The primary purpose of this position is to perform site assessments and develop maintenance plans for riparian forest buffers as a part of the ACC Watersheds Corps. This individual placement will create a work plan for a follow up planting crew in the fall. These buffers were planted 3-15 years ago through the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP) and the Virginia Agricultural Cost-Share Program (VACS).
Opportunity description
This position provides individuals with service and career opportunities to strengthen communities and preserve our natural resources. Participants serve locally with a partner agency completing identified in the project description. Participants receive daily supervision from a local mentor who works with the partner agency and overall support from Conservation Legacy staff. Service is generally 8-5 Monday – Friday but may vary. There is one opportunity under this announcement.

Requirements and qualifications
Requirements
Age between the ages of 18 and 30 w/maximum 35 for Veterans with DD-214. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Agree to be substance free. Valid Driver's License.
Preferred qualifications
Interest in stewardship. Ability to work well with others. Other qualifications as outlined in detailed announcement.
